Is famous for its Royal Palace built in the 18th century, wanted by the Bourbons and designed by Luigi Vanvitelli. The architect had certainly Versailles in his mind creating the most beautiful Royl Palace in Italy. The Palace has 1200 rooms, 1790 windows and 43 stairways. Particularly interesting are the Palatine Chapel and the royal apartments. Not to be missed is the park where it is possible to admire marvellous fountains and an immense waterfall (247 ft high). Worth to see is also "the english garden" wanted by the queen Maria Carolina d'Asburgo in 1786 and designed by John Andrew Graefer.
