  • Superb - hope to return!

We’ve just spent a magical 10 days at Villarena with our 2 kids. From the welcome from Guglielmo and staff, everything was perfect. Apartment was beautiful, really comfortable and furnished in classic Italian style - the kitchen was really well equipped, and the views from our terrace were stunning, which made long breakfasts and lunches a pleasure. The hotel is gorgeous: small, intimate and perfect for a Covid-friendly break as there is plenty of space and lots of outdoor seating, and everything is sparkling clean and well-managed. Our kids loved the play area and got an education in Italian food and farming seeing the garden, ducks and chickens. We had several meals at the hotel and they were simply excellent - I’ve eaten my way round most of Italy and it was definitely some of the freshest and best quality food I’ve had. Leave yourself in Guglielmo’s care and he will ensure you enjoy wonderful meals and well-matched wines. Nerano and Marina del Cantone are fairly small villages, but with enough nice restaurants and cafes to offer some variety, and they are really pretty. Fairly steep walk back up from the beach but you need to work up an appetite for all the great food! There are also some other local hikes we would love to return and tackle once we’ve trained the kids up ;)

  • A perfect place to stay

Villarena Relais offers a stunning view of the sea. To this add the lemon trees and the terraces you have the perfect place to stay. Situated in rural tranquillity just 5 minutes by car from Nerano beach and harbour and just 40 minutes by car from Sorrento you are not cut off from the outside world. The reception will be very happy in assisting you with booking daytrips by e.g., boat to Capri or the Amalfi Coast among others.

Grazie.

  • Paradise Amongst the Lemon Trees

He stayed here for a week in August and had the most incredible time. We particularly loved the beautifully maintained grounds and pool which have views over the town of Nerano and the ocean. We loved Nerano, It didn’t seem as touristy as the rest of the Amalfi, a perfect spot for a boat tour or exploring nearby towns. We will be back.

  • Nerano....food heaven..... warm and friendly .... pure delight.

In April, while visiting my niece, who moved from Scotland, with her family this year, to Nerano we popped into Villarena Ristorante for dinner. There had been a thunderstorm and the restaurant was therefore quiet. The owner brightened the evening though with his very warm welcome. He chatted away to all of us in perfect English and delighted my niece by addressing her in Italian,,,,,,she has become quite fluent already. There was no menu, which we found strange, but soon understood that the menu changes constantly as it is based on whatever fresh produce they have. I'm sure he could have rustled up anything we requested. We started our meal with a selection of vegetable, cheese, egg and ham based dishes. My very favourite was the ham and egg pastry which was light, tasty and, on such a miserable evening, reminded me of the one my mum used to make. Afterwards there was gnocci, pasta with shellfish, tiramasu for dessert and finally Limoncello. All very reasonably priced and well worth the visit. Also worth a mention, are the boat trips to Capri, Amalfi and Positano which leave from the Marina Del Cantone.

  • Divine

Having to drag ourselves away from Casale Villarina this morning, moving on to Sorrento. We have had a lovely stay thanks to wonderful hosts who make you feel right at home. Quirky and interesting apartments, with everything you could need. Wonderful for families especially. Food just divine. No menu, just what is locally fresh beautifully cooked and served. We would certainly be back when in this area.
