“A Wonderful Experience”

Casale Villarena is a wonderful development in the heart of Nerano in the Massa Lubrense province in the Amalfi peninsular. We stayed in the apartment La Rotonda which is one of four residences in the main building of the Casale. The apartment was superbly appointed with a balcony overlooking the bay of Marina del Cantone. All of the friendly staff at Casale Villarena will go out of their way to help you to have a wonderful holiday experience. Whether you want to book a boat trip to Capri or make a request for dinner, you probably won’t have to ask for advice or help. My partner and I are both very hard to please when it comes to holiday accommodation and food, however I have to say that this is probably the best vacation experience we have ever had and it is mostly due to the surroundings and staff of Casale Villarena. We spent a wonderful week in La Rontonda Appartment in July 2008. The Holiday started in the most fantastic way as we were welcomened at Casale Villarena quite late on the Saturday evening. The luggage was carried to the top appartment and we were invited to dine at the Casale. This first meal and the atmosphere was the best experience we had in Italy - at all. The food was faboulous the wine just right and the whole atmosphere so welcoming and mediterranean as we were seated in the wonderful lemon grove of the Casale. Throughout the week we enjoyed the gordious view from our Balcony and the hospitality og Guglielmo and the rest of the staff. Guglielmo and his staff also helped us arranging a private boat trip as well as transfer service to Sorrento - everything to our satisfaction. Thank you for everything Family Blomberg, Denmark

I booked this holiday on the internet after deciding that we should explore the Amalfi coast. If you like great views,wholesome Italian cooking and a serene but slightly more quiet holiday, then this is the place for you. Sorrento is 25 mins in a car. Being by the coast , Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Positanto are all accessible by easy boat trips. Casale Villarena is hospitable with the staff extremely flexible and geared towards helping their guests. The complex is situated at the top of a hill and is within 20 minutes walk from the Beach at Nerano where there are quaint but extremely good restaurants. I love Italian food and culture and in Casale Villarena I found something truly special. I will certainly come back here. We were treated fantastically well, and if you feel that, I believe you get value for money. Will be sad to be leaving this place, but happy to know that now I have found it, I know how to get back there next year. Review certified by TripAdvisor

We're back home in Ontario Canada after a wonderful holiday in Italy. Our stay in Nerano at Casale Villarena was wonderful. The view of the ships and the reflection of the moon on the water was a treat each evening sitting on the porch. As it turned out the use of the villa was the best suited accommodation for the four of us. My only suggestion would be new mattresses in the second bedroom where we slept. I can't speak for the other room. Our evening meal at your restaurant was one of the most delicious meals we enjoyed in our three weeks. As a principle, we never go back to places we have been to. But this is different, very different. The hospitality, the service, the food, the cleaning is just excellent. If you combine this with the surroundings of the Amalfi coast - you cannot find a better place to spend your holidays. We were here in 2006 and now in 2008. One thing for sure, we will be back. This is also the perfect place to stay if you want to share your holiday with close friends. It is like having our own villa but with 5 star service.

Abbiamo pernottato nella camera matrimoniale l'isca, il cui bagno ha la finestra che regala un'ottima vista sul mare e sugli isolotti li galli. Ottima accoglienza e grandi colazioni per iniziare al meglio le giornate di viaggio per la costiera. alberi di limone e piccola piscina per il relax. Nerano è un villaggio autentico fuori dalle grandi rotte turistiche e il casale è una struttura di charme!

No lemons, all lemonade

We arrived at the end of March and even though it was late at night, Guglielmo was there to help us with our bags. The apartment we stayed in was very clean and overall the property has been renovated to a high standard, with continuing improvements underway. The views are lovely and with a bus stop just outside, getting in to Sorrento from here is no problem. The property is covered in orange and lemon trees (hence the title of the review). For anyone travelling with young children, there is a covered playground in the garden - our son loved it! The apartment we stayed in - Il Brigante - was very child safe. The high door handles were brilliant. The beach at Marina del Cantone was very close for lazy days at the beach. Guglielmo has a great knowledge of the area and was very helpful in planning excursions. The village (Nerano) has two shops with most of the day-to-day things. There is a pharmacy a short drive away. Overall it was a good property and good area to stay in. We would recommend it - especially for those intending to travel to this area with children.

When we first sighted the Casale Villarena we both had tears in our eyes because it was even more beautiful than the photographs we had seen when surfing the web for a special Italian escape. Nerano is a small village nestling in the hillside in the region of Massa Lubrense, but it is a perfect place to tour from. The smell of the lemon grove was something we will remember for ever, and what we really looked forward to experiencing each evening after our days out exploring this fantastic part of Italy. On arrival our host Guglielmo showed us to our apartment which was spacious, immaculate and exceeded our wildest expectations - and included a cold beer which he delivered once we had settled in! What a nice touch and well appreciated after our drive from Naples! The apartment was so good, we made the decision to dine on our terrace every evening. As both of us are chefs, making use of the great facilities of the kitchen and its large double doors opening out onto the terrace, and the fresh local ingredients available in the village seemed like the perfect thing to do; and we discovered that we had the added bonus of our very own light show after dark, courtesy of the fireflies in the distance. The swimming pool and sun terrace were a quiet escape after a long day sightseeing. The Marina is a great spot to kick back and watch the world go by and there are some excellent restaurants to try out, and plenty of places to visit by boat from there. Throughout our stay in this magical place Guglielmo and his staff were never intrusive, but always ready to help us plan our trips around the area. We understand that there are so many places to visit in the world that one might be forgiven for not returning to the same place again, but the Casale Villarena will be the exception to the rule in our case.
