Casale Villarena - a perfect place to stay with your friends
Once again I had an unforgettable stay at Casale Villarena, my 5th stay here. My friends asked me to organize a trip; we were going together on holiday for the first time in 25 years. The choice was obvious, Casale Villarena. The perfect place to “be together”. The week was also filled with activity from boat trips to Capri and Positano, hiking and shopping - all arranged by our lovely host - Gugielmo. The atmosphere at the hotel make is unique and the food is outstanding. Coming back in June, then with my family. Casale Villarena is the perfect place for relaxing, activities, sightseeing, eating and drinking good wine.
IngeA fantastic week at Casale Villarena
Coming back to Casale Villarene after 7 years, and the place has been even better and more personally. Deliscius homemade food, first served at midnight after a long day by travelling all the way from Norway. The owner Guglielmo met us after breakfast in the first morning and asked us about our whises for this holiday. We got a boat trip to Capri, Proseco in the mountains, lunch by the beech,Tarantella show in Sorrento and cooking class. And when the weather changed, he changed the plans to the best for us. We will recommand this beautiful place whit this excellent and personaly service to booth people we know and people we don't know :-)
Liv B.Lovely stay at Casale Villarena
We had a good week here in April and really enjoyed the beautiful accommodation, wonderful food and amazing countryside. The hotel staff are very friendly and hospitable - especially Guillamo and Antonio. The cat is pretty cute too. Enjoyed trips to Amalfi (the cathedral is stunning) and Ravello. Also visited Pompeii and Herculaneum, which were just amazing. There are some good things to do locally - the beach at Cantone just down the road, walks around the headland, and a short drive away Termini is well worth a visit. Olma's out the back of the Casale is good for supplies and Olma is quite a character - quite keen to sell you eggs. Only downsides are everything is expensive and roads are crazy. I'd go again like a shot.
Nicola CrossA Real Treat for Foodies
We're just back from a week at Casale Villarena. the owner Guglielmo and all of the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. We arrived after about 11 hours of travelling from Ireland, tired, stressed and with a narky 2 year old in tow. Guglielmo instantly had us seated on the terrace of the casale with a huge selection of local salads and two beers. We stayed in Il Brigante. This was a comfortable, cool 2 bedroom apartment with a well supplied kitchen, a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony window and direct access to a shared terrace where we spent most evenings after out toddler had gone to bed, safe in the knowledge that she was only a few metres away from us at all times. There was a pool and also a really well equipped toddlers' play area, which kept us all entertained. The absolute highlight of our stay, other than the very friendly staff, was the food. We are not usually the type of people who keep going back to the same place to eat night after night, but the food at Villarena was just so good and reasonably priced that it was hard to justify eating anywhere else. So we would do our culinary adventuring out and about during the day for lunch, but always finished up in Villarena at night for a feast of fresh, local fare. Each night we were told what was available that day, with a different array of food each night (not a set menu). We had various gorgeous antipasti, gnocchi, spaghetti alla vongole and one night we were treated to a whole salt-baked fish which was delicious. Guglielmo also has a really well stocked wine cellar and organises a wine school as well, so he really knows his stuff. Each meal was rounded off with a couple of glasses of homemade limonchello, made from the lemons growing in the grove which spreads across the gardens of Villarena. When we weren't busy eating, we found Nerano to be a perfect base for exploring the Sorrentine and Amalfi coasts. We were equidistant between Sorrento and Positano, about 45 minutes to each. We took a day out and drove to Pompeii, which was fantastic. Guglielmo organised a trip for us from Nerano direct to Capri, which was also a brilliant excursion. Marina del Cantone is a gorgeous little stone beach about a 20 minute walk from Villarena, again Guglielmo can organise a discount for sun loungers. Nettuno Diving Centre are based in Marina del Cantone and I did my first underwater cave dive which is a must for any divers out there. So, to sum up, if you love food and want to stay somewhere that isn't as hectic as Sorrento etc. then Casale Villarena is perfect for couples, single travellers and families alike. We'll definitely be back!
DanAssoluta pace!
Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Da non trascurare la comodità del parcheggio.
Carlo C.Disperati all'idea di dover tornare a casa!!!

We had the best time in Villarena! The owner is great and makes you feel at home. Children are more then welcome and our daughter enjoyed the playground very much! Every evening we had a fantastic italian diner with dito wines :-). We visited the cosy beach of Nerano, Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.... Beautiful! At Casale Villarena 'everything is possible' ;-)
KevinIndimenticabile!!
Location bellissima!
